How Brock University Students Can Feel More Rested and Have More Time

Unlike their real-life counterpart, Brock Badgers are not nocturnal. But when finals season rolls around, many students feel like they must stay up late in order to keep up with the demands of their classes. With a little planning and foresight, however, Brock University students can feel more rested and have more time in the day to get stuff done. It is as simple as going to bed and waking up at the same time.

While this kind of rigidness may seem tough to enforce, it is well worth it in the long run. When someone goes to bed at the same time every day, the overall quality of their sleep drastically improves. This means that someone who sleeps for only seven hours, but does so consistently, will likely feel more rested than someone who inconsistently sleeps eight to ten hours at various times of the day. This means that by simply being consistent, students at Brock can feel more rested and have more time to prepare for finals.

However, there is a cost: no more snoozing, even on weekends. While we all have experienced late-night Netflix binges and the alluring call of the snooze button, we cannot succumb to the seductive melody of the mattress. Doing so will mess up your sleep schedule will make it difficult to fall asleep the following night. Putting your phone on the opposite side of the room can help with this as it forces you to stand up to turn off your alarm. Find a time that works for you and stick to it.

While it may seem a daunting chore at first, being on a consistent sleep schedule can quickly turn into a luxury. Suddenly, it will feel as though you have an entire extra day of the week. By simply going to bed at the same time every day, a Brock student can drastically improve the quality of their sleep, feel more rested, and find more time in the day.
